Killen Brothers Dominate at Iowa State Fair Speedway

Des Moines, Iowa – The Killen brothers dominated their classes at the Iowa State Fair Speedway Friday Night as Don won the IMCA stock car feature for the second time this year and Tom won the IMCA modified feature. Jason Fresen won the IMCA late model event while Tim St. Arnold received the checkered first in the 360-sprint race. Mark Fee won the DIRT truck feature and the IMCA hobby stock features were won by Bill Bonnett and John Gilbert.
Craig Roberts won a make-up feature for IMCA hobby stocks and Steve Philipsen took the DIRT truck make-up race. It was full program that ended one-half before the 10:30 curfew on a beautiful night.
Don Killen and Cale Sponsler ran away from the field to top the IMCA stock car feature with Tim Baker third.
Tim St. Arnold bested Don Droud and Steve Breazeale in the 360-sprint event.
Top finishers in the IMCA late model class were Jason Fresen, Darrell DeFrance, and Chris Smyser.
Tom Killen finished ahead of former national champion Dave Farren and John Logue in his IMCA modified.
The first IMCA hobby stock feature went to Bill Bonnett with John Davis second, and Randy Casner third. The second feature was won by John Gilbert followed by Bruce Wolfe and Jim Alexander. After the race John Thoren claimed the engine of Davis and Eric Stanton claimed the carburetor of Gilbert.
Racing in all classes continues next Friday with hot laps around 6:00 pm followed by racing action.
