Des Moines, Iowa – For second week in a row, John Logue captured the IMCA modified feature at the Iowa State Fair Speedway Friday night. The IMCA stock feature went to John Hunnell, the DIRT truck feature to Sean Allen and the IMCA hobby stock features to Adam Hagen and Mark Chance.

Mark Allgood took the early lead in the IMCA modified feature until Danny Wallace passed him on the fourth lap. Logue passed Allgood on the next lap and started chasing Wallace. Wallace and Logue pulled away from the field. On lap 14 of the 18-lap feature, Wallace boggled coming out of turn four, giving Logue the opportunity to take the lead for good. Wallace finished second, Allgood third, and Russ Gladson was fourth.

Skeeter Paris moved his IMCA stock car into the lead from front row in the main event. On lap 8, second place driver Rob Jorgenson hit a lapped car causing a large accident. Jorgenson was black-flagged and John Hunnell moved into second on the restart. Hunnell passed Paris on the eleventh lap and held on for the victory. Paris finished second, Kent Knopf was third, and Steve Jackson was fourth. After the race, Mark Elliott claimed the engine of Jackson.

The first IMCA hobby stock feature was won by Adam Hagen followed by John Davis, Mike Stark, and Eric Stanton. The second feature was won by Mark Chance followed by Jim Alexander, Keith Williamson, and Chris Jensen. After the first race, Jeremy Goetschious claimed the carburetor of Davis.

The DIRT Truck feature was won by Sean Allen who passed second-place finisher Jeff Johnson on the white flag lap. Tim Phillips was third and Steve Philipsen was fourth.

Next week, the 360 sprint cars and IMCA late models start their regular season. Hot laps start at 6:00 and will be followed by racing.
