COUNTY HOME - 2nd VISIT 11/12/04 (Posted 11/26/04)
Solar: Normal/Geomagnetic: STORM; New moon; Temp:
36F, Weather: Fair, 48% humidity ; In attendance: Investigators
Lynette B; Lynnette D; Ashley; Signa; Greg; Equipment: Temp guns
{thermo-scanners}, gauss meters, 2 Sony Nightshot digital video cameras,
digital cameras, motion detector
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS PROPERTY IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC -PERMISSION MUST BE OBTAINED TO INVESTIGATE INSIDE OR OUT. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN YOUR ARREST! Recent events: Some very extensive vandalism had occurred since our last visit. The vandals expressed themselves violently in words & deeds. This type of destructive behavior was a very pathetic commentary on themselves. Could the bottled up rage of some of the deceased & troubled inmates have been manifesting themselves thru these vandals? People who are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, & have poor self esteem, are prime targets for spirit possession. (NOTE: C.I.G.H.T. does not condone any type of vandalism. Always show respect for the location you are investigating or visiting. It is a malicious, immature, & illegal activity. & If you discover vandalism, please report it to the proper authorities.} Results of Investigation: The thing that stood
out the most on this investigation was the strange & baffling behavior of
our camera equipment. Most of this took place in the section where the
kitchen & cafeteria was, & the boiler room directly below
it. Other areas affected were in places of more extensive
vandalism. {Perhaps an imprinting of the violent emotions
expressed there still gave off 'bad vibes'?} In the kitchen area
we took some photos, & 2 different investigators, with different brand
digital cameras, both got unusually blurry shots. The cameras have auto
focus & functioned fine in
We also measured temperature drops of 10+ degrees in certain areas of the kitchen. The cafeteria has a door leading directly in the
kitchen. In this area Investigator Lynnette D took a
We normally don't include stationary orb pictures any
longer, but these pictures, taken in the kitchen by Investigator Greg, were
backed up by a subsequent photo, by Investigator Lynette B, that show the Greg's next photo
We had also tried setting up a Sony video camera on Nightshot, in the dark kitchen, after we left the area. We returned to find that while the settings seemed to be correct, there was nothing wrong with the camera, -& no, the lens cap wasn't on-, the camera picture remained dark the whole time. The Nightshot feature refused to work, & we only recorded sound. The following 2 photos were taken by Investigator
Signa in the boiler room, which is below the kitchen area. There
is a chance motion blur may have caused this partial double exposure effect
but there aren't accompanied by the usual yellow/red streaked
look. These were taken with a digital
Our other camera difficulties, which were in the high vandalism areas, included Lynette B's digital camera zooming in & out on it's own, from telephoto to wide angle. It has not done this before or since. A second Sony Nightshot video camera was also set up, on a tripod, in a hallway with the most damage. The camera & Nightshot feature were checked before leaving it. Upon returning, we reviewed to the tape, only to find that shortly after we left it, it stopped filming. It was still in the correct mode for filming, but what footage we did get shows the camera rocking to the left , {the controls are on the right side}, & then the tape stops. No unusual sound accompanied this. ??? While our group did do a prayer of protection before starting the hunt, Investigators Lynette B & Lynnette D, started to wonder over the following weekend, if they has still accidentally had spirits follow them home. Lynette B had a TV come unplugged by itself, & the end of the cord was pulled back & hidden under a stack of books. The TV had last been used the night before the investigation. Shortly after she discovered this, a box containing 2 jars of clay fell off a counter in another room. No one was near it. One jar fell out, but the box & other jar were found right side up some distance from the counter. At the exact same time the box fell, a stuffed animal fell from another location in the same room. {This was witnessed by Lynette B's husband.} That same weekend, Lynnette D was half-sleep, but still awake, when she startled to feel an unseen entity hugging her. She also thought she saw the silhouette of a person at this time. She also discovered her bathroom waste basket in her bedroom. No one in her family had touched it. It would have had to move across a hallway to get there. Next time we vow to do a second prayer of protection before leaving a haunted location! Uninvited guests aren't fun.

Recent events: During pre-production for the spring show, the resident ghost moved a set piece while the light crew was changing lights. Also an actor saw some movement, the last night of the fall production, when he was in the side stage hall waiting for his entrance. Results of Investigation: We had some evidence
of temperature fluctuations back stage, & a few solid, stationary
orb pictures in the seating area, that could not be tied in with other
evidence. {Since these

The site was originally built as a county 'poor farm'
back in 1867. The original building was replaced in 1896 & has been built on
to many times since. It became 'home' to the unfortunate people who had no
where else to go, to those who were mentally or physically handicapped, to
the orphaned & the elderly. In the 1800's & early 1900's inmates who could
helped raise crops & stock to help pay for their keep. But they could not
keep the best of their bounty. That was to be sold, & only the barest,
plainest, minimum was reserved for the 'patients'. When residents died with
no families to provide for them, they were buried in nameless graves as late
as 1962.
Thankfully, situations had been much improved &
modernized in the last 40 years, but it was still not a place most people
wanted to end up in. The Home closed a few years ago & has sat vacant
since. Well, not completely vacant..... some troubled former residents
remain. Some as merely as place memories, absorbed by the building, some as
restless spirits.
We were fortunate enough to obtain permission to
investigate the interior of this structure & try to capture the essence of
these residents who remain. To honor their memory.
Our investigating group was larger than normal on this
trip, so we were not able to use some equipment we might have other wise. But
we were lucky enough to capture some very intriguing photos, giving some proof
of those who would not be forgotten.....& still remain.
(Special Thanks to Investigator Signa for her research on this location!)
This is the same County Home where we obtained the apparition in the window & ecto in past investigations. During this inside investigation we noted many places where the temperature would drop by as much as 20 degrees. Abnormal readings were also obtained on the E.M.F meter.
This photo was taken by Investigator Lynette B., in a room in
the former Alzheimer's ward, after she & another iinvestigator suddenly smelled blood. Note
the string of anomalies trailing down & to the right of the moving orb.
The scent vanished & a picture taken immediately after showed nothing unusual.
Investigator Alan took this photo of an ecto mist in the kitchen area, after sensing a presence in the area. Subsequent photos show the mist moving out of the area. Investigator Lynette B. took this photo in an adjacent area after noticing a temperature drop.
Investigator Alan snapped this shot of an orb with a
contrail near
the ceiling of the gym. Investigator Lynnette D. captured this unusual image, to the left, in one of the rooms. Elsie U. captured this shot of a moving orb in front of a door when Investigator Lynette B. sensed a presence near by.
